Mariners are advised that from Wednesday 11th January 2023 Cardiff Bay Barrage Lock 1 will be closed for essential maintenance for approximately two weeks.

When tidal restrictions coincide with operationally busy periods, delays may be experienced with the locking procedure. Mariners are requested to take note of these delays when passage planning.

Mariners should note that during this maintenance period entry to Cardiff Bay will only be possible for vessels with a beam less than 8.0m.

Mariners are reminded that CCTV is in operation at the Barrage for operational and health and safety reasons. All CCTV images and VHF transmissions are recorded.
