Notice to Mariners 20 - Lifting of Weekend Locking Restrictions

LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS
No 20 of 2022 – Lifting of Weekend Locking Restrictions – (NTM 16 of 2022)

Mariners are advised that the weekend locking restrictions will be removed from 0600 hrs Saturday 17th September.

However until significant rainfall increases river flows, the following restrictions will remain in place:

0001 hrs Mon – 0600 hrs Sat

Outbound On the hour only
Inbound 45 mins past the hour only

The situation with regard to the maintenance of the Bay level will be kept under constant review, and restrictions will be relaxed if at all possible. Barrage Control may be able to run additional locks when operating conditions permit.

Up to date information may be obtained from Barrage Control on 029 2070 0234 or on VHF Channel 18. Where delays do occur, mariners are requested to exercise patience and act in accordance with the locking instructions given to them by Barrage staff.

All Vessels wishing to enter or leave Cardiff Bay should contact Barrage Control on VHF Channel 18 and await instructions before entering the Outer Harbour.

Mariners are reminded that CCTV is in operation at the Barrage for operational and health and safety reasons. All CCTV images and VHF transmissions are recorded.
