We have recently noticed an increase in the disposal of unsuitable waste material including oil, flammable propellants, fuel cans and pyrotechnics which have all been put in our general waste bins. Please can we ask you to take these away and dispose of them correctly.
Additionally , the Environment Agency have issued new legislation which came into force on the 1st January 2023 regarding the disposal of upholstered furniture, cushions or mattresses etc. These items may contain persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and so can no longer be sent to landfill. The need for incineration has meant that the disposal costs has increased. Please therefore help us by taking them to your local tip/recycling centre.
Going forward any such unsuitable material that we find in our bins including waste brought in from outside of the marina, will incur an additional charge.
